Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 20 September 2026
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before placing an order.
These Terms & Conditions apply to the purchase of goods and the booking of training workshops or other services through the Let’s Do Bonsai website.
1. About Us
We are Lets do Bonsai Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17453660.
Registered office:
158 Haigh Moor Way
South Yorkshire
S26 4SG
Email: info@letsdobonsai.co.uk
Website: www.letsdobonsai.co.uk
In these Terms & Conditions, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Lets do Bonsai Ltd, and “you” and “your” refer to the customer.
2. Who These Terms Apply To
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made by consumers through our website.
A consumer is an individual acting wholly or mainly for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to place an order with us.
3. Our Products
We sell bonsai trees and may also sell non-perishable bonsai-related goods such as pots, tools and accessories.
All products are subject to availability.
Each bonsai tree offered for sale is an individual tree.
The photographs shown on the product page are photographs of the actual tree being offered for sale at the time the photographs were taken.
Because bonsai trees are living products, their appearance may naturally change between the date they are photographed and the date they are delivered. This may include changes in foliage, colour, growth or seasonal appearance.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, dimensions, photographs and other information displayed on the website are accurate.
Minor differences caused by the natural growth or seasonal development of a living tree will not necessarily mean that the tree is not as described.
4. Availability
All products displayed on our website are subject to availability.
Because each bonsai tree is individually offered for sale, once a tree has been sold it cannot normally be replaced with an identical tree.
In the unlikely event that a product becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you and refund any payment made for that product.
5. Placing an Order
The ordering process on our website allows you to review and correct your order before submitting it.
It is your responsibility to make sure that the information you provide, including your delivery address, is accurate.
Submitting an order does not itself mean that we have accepted it.
A contract between you and us is formed when we send you an email confirming that we have accepted your order.
We may decline an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
-
a product is no longer available;
-
there is an obvious error in the price or product information;
-
payment cannot be authorised;
-
we cannot deliver to the requested address; or
-
we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful activity.
If we decline an order after taking payment, we will refund the amount paid.
6. Prices and Payment
The price payable is the price shown on the website when you place your order, except where there is an obvious pricing error.
Prices include VAT where applicable.
Any delivery charges will be shown before you complete your order.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.
Payment may be taken when you place your order or before the goods are dispatched.
7. Delivery
We will deliver your order to the delivery address provided when the order is placed.
Delivery areas, charges and estimated delivery times are set out in our Shipping Policy and will also be shown where applicable during checkout.
We aim to deliver within the estimated delivery period shown when you order.
Unless a different delivery period has been agreed, goods will be delivered without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is formed.
8. Delivery of Bonsai Trees
Bonsai trees are living products and may be affected by extreme weather and unsuitable temperatures.
Where we reasonably believe that dispatching a tree would create an unacceptable risk of damage because of severe frost, excessive heat or other adverse conditions, we may delay dispatch.
Where this happens, we will contact you and arrange delivery as soon as reasonably practicable.
If a substantial delay occurs and you do not wish to wait, you may contact us to discuss cancellation and a refund.
9. Failed Delivery
You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and for making reasonable arrangements to receive the delivery.
If delivery cannot be completed because of circumstances within your control, we may charge reasonable additional costs associated with storage or redelivery.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
10. Risk and Ownership
The goods become your responsibility when they are delivered to you, or to a person identified by you to receive them.
Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full.
11. Inspecting Your Order
Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If a bonsai tree or other product arrives damaged, faulty, seriously deteriorated or incorrect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at:
Where possible, please provide your order number and photographs showing the product and any relevant packaging.
Further information is available in our Refund & Returns Policy.
12. Your Statutory Rights
We have a legal duty to supply goods that conform to the contract.
Goods must, where applicable:
-
be of satisfactory quality;
-
be fit for their intended purpose; and
-
match their description.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes your statutory rights.
13. Change-of-Mind Cancellations
For most non-perishable goods bought online, consumers have a statutory right to cancel the contract within 14 days without giving a reason.
The cancellation period normally begins when you, or a person nominated by you other than the carrier, takes physical possession of the goods.
Different rules apply to goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
Bonsai trees are living, perishable goods and, where the statutory exception for goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly applies, the normal 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply.
This does not affect your statutory rights where a tree is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Further details are set out in our Refund & Returns Policy.
14. Cancelling Eligible Non-Perishable Goods
Where the statutory right to cancel applies, you must tell us that you wish to cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods.
You may do this by emailing:
You do not have to use any particular wording, but you must clearly tell us that you wish to cancel the contract.
You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.
15. Returning Eligible Goods
If you cancel an eligible purchase because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods unless we agree otherwise.
You must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days after telling us that you wish to cancel.
Please contact us before making a return so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.
If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, we will bear reasonable return costs where a return is required.
16. Refunds Following Cancellation
Where you validly cancel an eligible purchase, we will refund the price paid for the goods.
Where required by law, we will also refund the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.
If you selected a more expensive delivery option, we are not required to refund the additional amount above the cost of standard delivery.
We will make the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after:
-
we receive the returned goods; or
-
if earlier, you provide evidence that you have sent the goods back.
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed.
17. Handling Returned Goods
You may inspect eligible non-perishable goods in the same way that you reasonably could in a shop.
We may make an appropriate deduction from a refund if the value of the goods has been reduced because you handled them beyond what was reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and condition.
18. Bonsai Care After Delivery
Once a bonsai tree has been delivered in satisfactory condition, its continued health will depend partly on the care and environment it receives.
We cannot normally accept responsibility for deterioration caused after delivery by matters including:
-
inappropriate watering;
-
unsuitable positioning;
-
insufficient light;
-
unsuitable temperatures;
-
frost or excessive heat;
-
inappropriate pruning;
-
unsuitable repotting;
-
inappropriate fertilising; or
-
other unsuitable care or treatment.
This does not affect your rights where a problem was present when the tree was supplied.
19. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
We will not be responsible for a failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where such circumstances affect our ability to fulfil your order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of the delay.
This does not affect your statutory rights, including your rights in relation to late or failed delivery.
20. Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Please see our Privacy Policy for information about what personal data we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it and your data-protection rights.
21. Our Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
-
death or personal injury caused by negligence;
-
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
-
breach of your statutory consumer rights.
We are not responsible for business losses where you are purchasing as a consumer.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into.
22. Complaints
If you have a complaint or there is a problem with your order, please contact:
We will try to resolve complaints promptly and fairly and aim to respond with an appropriate update or proposed resolution within 5 working days.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The terms that apply to your purchase will be those in force when your order is placed.
Any change made after a contract has been formed will not alter that contract unless the change is required by law or is agreed between you and us.
24. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions and any contract between you and us are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live in England or Wales, you may bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
If you live in Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland.
25. Training Workshops and Other Services
We may offer training workshops and other bonsai-related services which can be booked through our website.
Details of each workshop or service, including the date, time, location, price and what is included, will be shown on the relevant booking page.
We will provide services with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the description provided when you make your booking.
Cancelling a Workshop or Service
As training workshops are provided on specific dates and times the normal 14-day statutory cancellation right does not apply to services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance.
Any cancellation, transfer or refund arrangements applying to a workshop will be shown on the relevant booking page or in our Workshop Cancellation Policy before you make your booking.
Cancellations by Us
If we need to cancel a workshop or service, we will offer you an appropriate alternative date where possible or refund the amount you paid for the cancelled service.
We will not exclude or restrict any rights you have under consumer law.
26. Further Policies
You can find further information in our:
Nothing in these policies or these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory rights you have under UK consumer law.
