Itoigawa Juniper Bonsai – LDB44

A powerful and characterful Itoigawa Juniper, combining a substantial twisting trunk with mature deadwood and dense, well-established foliage.

At approximately 30cm from the top of the pot, the tree carries an impressive 7cm trunk, giving it excellent proportions and a much larger sense of presence than its overall height suggests.

The trunk has strong natural movement, with significant shari running through the trunk and into the upper section, contrasting beautifully with the live vein. Established jin and deadwood features add further age and character, while the compact Itoigawa foliage provides plenty of scope for continued refinement.

The tree already has a strong framework and defined foliage masses. With further refinement and eventual selection of a suitable bonsai pot, this has the potential to become a particularly impressive compact specimen.
