Ben Aigen Scots Pine – Previously Owned by Dan Barton - LDB37

Scots Pine – Pinus sylvestris

A characterful Scots Pine with an exceptional piece of British bonsai history.

Originally from Ben Aigen, Scotland, this tree was previously owned and styled by Dan Barton, one of the most influential figures in British bonsai. It subsequently became part of Robert Porch’s collection, from whom the tree was recently acquired by Let’s Do Bonsai.

The tree has now been restyled by Andy Mook, winner of the 2026 UK National Bonsai Talent Competition, continuing the development of a tree that has already passed through the hands of respected figures within British bonsai.

The tree features a strong leaning trunk, mature bark, an impressive exposed root base and established primary branching.

Its history and existing structure make this much more than simply another Scots Pine — it is a tree with genuine provenance and a continuing story.
