"My passion, sourcing quality and creating quality trees for people"
Andy Mook - Co-Founder
The Process

1. Selecting the Material
Every bonsai starts with the right material. A young tree, nursery plant or collected specimen is chosen for its health, trunk, roots and potential to become something special.

2. Developing the Structure
The tree is grown and carefully pruned to develop its trunk and main branches. This stage establishes the basic structure and character that will form the foundation of the future bonsai.

3. Styling the Tree
Pruning, wiring and branch positioning begin to reveal the tree’s final design. The aim is to work with the natural character of the tree rather than simply forcing it into a shape.

4. Refinement & Maturity
A bonsai is never really finished. Over many years, continued pruning, repotting and careful cultivation develop finer branching, balance and maturity — while the tree continues to change and evolve

Andy Mook - Co-Founder
Winner – UK New Talent Competition (NTC) 2026
Andy is an experienced bonsai enthusiast, demonstrator and competitor with a particular passion for developing and styling trees.
In 2026, Andy won the UK New Talent Competition, earning the opportunity to represent Great Britain at the European Bonsai Association New Talent Competition in Slovakia, where he achieved a third-place podium finish.
Andy brings a practical eye to the trees selected for Let’s Do Bonsai, looking beyond their appearance today to the structure, health and potential they offer for the future.

"If We Wouldn’t Own It, We Won’t Sell It."
That simple principle sits behind everything we offer.
Every tree listed on Let’s Do Bonsai has been personally selected and inspected by us. We look for good health, strong character, quality material and, importantly, future potential.
We want to offer trees we would genuinely be happy to put on our own benches.
Over the years we’ve visited nurseries across the UK and Europe, worked alongside leading bonsai artists, competed, demonstrated and helped introduce thousands of people to the hobby.
That experience has taught us that a good bonsai is about more than how it looks today. It is about seeing what a tree can become.
